Because Daddy's think it is funny to put bloomer's on the baby's head!

Rube changed JR and she came back with her bloomies on her noggin, she obviously didn't seem to mind.

Playing Some Serious Catch-Up

I have been very MIA here in blog land. I believe we had only one free weekend this month where we had no plans, no commitments, no place to be. 'Twas a great month, though:

1)Ruben ended another semester with all A's, just finished a mini-mester, and starts Summer I next week.(I hear so much about school I think right now we practically eat, drink, breathe it. Exhausting? Yes. Anxious for it to be done? Yes. Will it still be a good while until it is over? You betcha. But I digress...) Big Rube also completed his CNA certification and is set to start his new j-o-b next week at a nursing home that specializes in dementia patients.

2) CJ had her first ballet recital and it was A-dorable. McFarlin Auditorium was packed and I was super excited to see my crazy CJ get up there and do her thing. Seriously, watching 3 and 4 year olds perform is chilariously cute... And so it was a great run this year with the tap/ballet experience. This fall we are moving to the next activity, soccer. Woowoo!

3) Jenna Reese quickly went from perching on her knees to pulling herself up to a full stand-up position! She has now been standing with support for a few weeks now and will even sit down without using her hands to assist. The Jennster also prefers to feed herself mostly, the taste of baby food is slowly getting old I think. She can gum saltines and cheerios like nobody's business. Annnnd, she loves to clap! Give her a "yaaaay" and she thinks that is her cue to start her little round of applause. :) I swear it seems my JR is doing these things earlier than her sis, must check this out in the CJ baby book... hmmmm.

4) Work is the same. Grateful to have a job. Great schedule. Fun work peeps.

5) Team Rodriguez had a great Memorial Day holiday weekend. Very thankful for our Veterans and for our Soldiers that serve our country. We also made a trip down to SA for a family wedding. Although super humid/hot we enjoyed the company of loved ones and more than appreciated a mini-vacay. :)

Our only family pic the entire weekend, JR was def not feeling it!

6) And finally, my apologies, dear blog - I love to keep up with this as best as I can, and, believe me I am kicking myself when I don't. Most nights after all is said and done for the day, I really, really want to pick up the laptop and record our tidbits, but, apparently sometimes not enough to get down to the nitty gritty and just do it. Maybe I need a new outlook on this and not over think it. Like I do with some things. Argh!

4th Birthday, done hula style!

This Saturday was filled with more great birthday memories for my sweet CJ. We had gone back and forth for a bit with Little Miss Opinionated about what theme she liked best. After all that debating, she got the idea for a "Hula" party, as she called it, so that's what we went with. To add to Carmen's excitement, her birthday was the same day as the party, and who doesn't enjoy celebrating on their actual birthday? That rocked.

So thankful and blessed with this little gal who makes us laugh. Every. Single. Day. Love you, CJ. Here is wishing you many, many, many more to come!

Another Hoppy Easter

Our Easter (or easters, for you nacho libre fans) was of course spent with our families, and we of course enjoyed every last bit of the day. We started out bright and early for the 8am (yowza) mass, which was SUPER packed. (Thanks to those C&E church goers, LOL.) Our festivities of the day included lots of cascarones (confetti eggs!), lots of great food on the grill, and a surprise visit from the Easter Bunny, or, er - the Easter Bunny's wife, 'cause with her hat and apron she was clearly a gal bunny. :)

Some of the cousins with Mrs. Easter Bunny

Who is more cuddly? JR or the Easter Bunny?

THE best $1 I ever spent, got CJ that pink hat in the dollar section at Tarjay for her Easter basket and she LOOOVED it.
