Carmen's Umbilical Granuloma is Removed!
What is an umbilical granuloma?
An umbilical granuloma is a piece of tissue that remains on your baby's belly button after the umbilical cord falls off. Rather than healing up and becoming covered with skin, a bright red stalk of tissue remains on the belly button. It has a grainy surface and produces sticky mucus. Without treatment, it could ooze and become an irritation for several months.

Miss CJ was a very good patient and although she was quite the wiggle worm, the doctor finished the procedure quite quickly. Carmen left a happy camper enjoying her bottle and by the time we hit the road she was fast asleep.
Have a great weekend, everyone!

A Taste of Dallas!
As always, the week flew by. Ruben and has been busy with work as well as doing some maitenence on our rental properties, which I helped him out where I could. Whew!
We had a fabulous weekend and got to spend some great family time together. Saturday evening we headed to downtown to the "Taste of Dallas". We tried some food and walked around a bit. It was hot!! It was nice to see a few of our pals, I think everyone had fun but were tired when we headed home.
Sunday Ruben was MIA out working on some plumbing, so Carmen Jules and I did some grocery shopping and other errands. Later in the evening Ruben cooked out on the grill and we enjoyed some fajitas. Thanks, honey!

Saturday afternoon we headed over to the Escobar's to celebrate Baby Carlos' 6th Birthday! For months he had been talking about wanting a "King Kong" themed party. He did indeed have his King Kong party complete with King Kong himself! (Ruben was so nice to dress up and run around in humid 90 degree weather! King Kong and Carlos had a dance off!). It's amazing to see our beautiful Godson get so big! I can remember the day he was born. He was an extra chubby, roly-poly cutie pie! When Carlos started to talk he called himself 'Tah-los.' On one occasion I think Carlos was 2 or 3 and was acting up a bit. Ruben bluntly told him to stop acting like a jerk, in which Carlos told Ruben in complete seriousness "I'm not a jerk, I'm Baby Tah-los." Love that kid! Talk about a good heart and a genuinely nice little boy. We love you Carlos!
